How to choose the right blowers for the water treatment plant?

A blower is a technical equipment that is used to change the direction of the air at moderate air pressure. It is applied for blowing the gas or air within a specific area. It can produce pressure at a maximum of 202 kilopascal, which is equivalent to 2 atmospheres. The blower is used in the wastewater treatment plant, air conditioner, and so on.

Working Principle of The Blower

The blower absorbs the gas by the centrifugal movement of the impeller, and it helps to increase the pressure. The impeller of the blowers rotates, and the channels present in the impeller push the air forward by centrifugal movement. A helical movement also occurs. The produced pressure increases in a linear way. The gas is also compressed continuously throughout the channel.

Mainly two types of air blowers are used within the industrial application, and these are positive displacement blower and centrifugal blower. The rotary lobe positive displacement air blower is used within the water treatment plant. It is also used for sewage treatment, cement plants, pneumatic conveying in industries, aeration tanks, aquaculture tanks, and so on. Two eight-shaped rotors rotate for the displacement of the air from the inlet side to the outlet side.

The pair of rotors move in the opposite direction with a circular motion at an equal speed. The external source of power drives one of the rotors, and the equal ratio gears drive the other rotor. It helps to achieve a constant flow rate with differential pressure.

Application of The Blower

The water treatment plant helps to purify the impure water using bacteria. The bacteria helps to degrade the organic matter present within the impure water. The bacteria need oxygen to continue this process. The blower is employed in the aeration tank of the water treatment plant. It provides enough oxygen to the bacteria to continue the purification of water.

Presently, the rotary lobe PD blower is available with energy features. It is a complete economic process to supply the needed amount of air for the purification process.

Why is the acoustic enclosure required while installing the blower?

Technology is evolving with time, so do their procedures. However, there is specific machinery which alone can produce ear-deafening sound. That can harm human health as well as the environment. So, to prevent such dangerous noises, the sound enclosure is created. It absorbs the sound coming from such mechanical machinery.

As you know, a blower can produce high noise during its operation. While installing it for environmentally compliant projects, there are certain noise limits that you have to follow. According to the legal authorities, the noise level should not exceed 85db (A). If there is a requirement for high differential pressure, large displacement volume, or high rpm in such a case, the noise level may exceed 85db (A).

Therefore, in such a condition, the sound enclosure is used. The acoustic enclosure performs two functions in such a case.

  • It controls the noise level during the installation of the blower.
  • Sound Enclosure acts like protections cover for the blower and its instrument from wind, rain, or dust in an outdoor installation.
  • It increased staff productivity by reducing the noise.
  • Modular types of the enclosure are easy to install. Since they already have sound-absorbing panels. Therefore chances for additional installments reduce.
  • Even though the acoustic enclosure is large, they are easy to maintain.

Types of Acoustic Enclosure

The acoustic enclosure is divided into three main categories. These are-

  • The External Acoustic Enclosure
  • Noise dampening material to lessen noise during the blower installation.
  • The heat diffusion system consists of exhaust fans or air conditioning systems in some cases.

How Acoustic Generator Works?

Acoustic generators are acoustic chambers that control the noise that comes from heavy machinery during its operation. These are designed to lessen the noise to tolerable decibel levels. In some cases, soundproof enclosures are used.

Soundproof enclosures are designed with the help of soundproof materials that restrict the noise in the chamber. In other words, it absorbs the noise within the room. However, in an acoustic enclosure, sound absorption panels are built-in.

In conclusion, the sound enclosure is the best way to reduce the heavy machinery's ear-deafening noise during their installment and operation. It even improves the safety of the staff working there.
